Ludacris World

Reviews

From his fifth LP (and each preceding one), you get the sense that Ludacris doesn't so much make albums as he makes songs, which his record label then collects and packages into CDs. There's no cohesion -- even the title Release Therapy has nothing to do with anything. That said, Luda can still turn out solid tracks based on three qualities: clever lyrics, commitment to concepts and taste in beats. On this note: all about his business, Ludacris keeps it thrifty, only shelling out for one name brand, the Neptunes, on the single Money Maker. But Ludacris can still entertain without saying much -- and after he actually says something (i.e., Tell It Like It Is), it's harder to hate on his other bullshit.
